Weight Loss Simple Tips

Other than those tips i will post, here is some useful information:
* You did not gain all that weight in one month, it will not disappear in a month.
* Fad diets and weird pills will not work, once you stop taking them you will be back to square one.
* Have a clear target e.g I want to lose X kilos in Y months time.
* Persistence is very important.
* I would highly recommend you keep a journal for purposes of tracking your journey's progress
* weight loss is a personal journey, once you put your mind to it nothing can stop you.
Tips:
1. Weight loss is 80% diet and only 20% exercise.
Remember you cannot out-exercise a bad diet. No matter how hard you work in the gym, if you diet is not good you are just mark-timing unfortunately.

2. Water, water, water.
Drink at least 2.5 glasses  of water daily. If you can drink at least a glass of warm water first thing in the morning, the better. If you find it impossible to drink plain water, you can try infused water (read more here). Water helps with metabolism, so yeah.

3. Working out:
Ensure you workout at least thrice a week. For a beginner you can start by walking 3-5 Kilometres thrice or so per week. Then later you ca move on to home workouts (i'm currently doing T25 by shaun T) or join the gym.

4. Green tea:
Some people claim it does nothing for them but it works for me, so :D . I take at least 2 cups, one in the morning and one in the evening. Note that green tea doesn't make you lose weight, it boosts your metabolism, bleh bleh bleh

5. Be ware of junk food.
Useless calories indeed. A young lady required around 1200 calories daily. That would mean approximately 400 for breakfast, 400 lunch and 400 for supper. well assume you take Chips/fries (360 calories), 500 ml soda (210 calories), 1 sausage (229 calories) and maybe the tiny ice cream tube (137 calories). In total for that one meal alone you have taken 936 calories, as opposed to the average 400-450 calories for one meal. Do you know how much exercise you require to burn the extra 536 calories????? lol let me put it like this, one shaun T workout burns anywhere from 220-250 calories (for me)... hehe goodluck with the extra 536 calories you piled earlier on.
6. Portion Control.
Yes you need to reduce the size of that plate, its quite simple. Dont eat like its your last day on earth, tomorrow you will still eat, and the day after, till Jesus calls you home.

7. Processed foods are your no.1 sworn enemy in your weight loss journey. Wheat is a no go zone, avoid mandazis, chapatis, bread with all your heart. Sugar is also to be reduced or avoided completely. Your servings of ugali and rice should be no more  than a quarter of your plate (portion control)

8. Cheat day.
Allow yourself a day where you can have a piece of chocolate, of one chapati, or a small serving of fries, or half a glass of soda, just dont over do it.

9. Moderation Moderation Moderation
Weight loss is not a jail sentence. If you want some chocolates, have them, but do it moderately. Dont grab all the chocolate you can lay your hands on.

Have a healthy day
